Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a collaborative, person‑centred approach that helps people explore ambivalence and build their own motivation for change. This training introduces the core principles and skills of MI in a practical, accessible way, helping staff reduce resistance, improve engagement, and have more effective conversations with people who feel stuck or unsure.
Ideal for anyone supporting people through change, including drug and alcohol services, mental health teams, housing and homelessness services, criminal justice, social care, and the voluntary sector. No prior MI experience needed.
Interactive, reflective, and grounded in real‑world practice. Participants learn through examples, discussion, and skills practice, leaving with tools they can use immediately to make conversations more engaging, collaborative, and effective.
